What do I wear to my lesson?

Approved riding helmets must be worn at all times whilst riding the horse.

We do have riding helmets available for a charge of 50p per lesson. However, it is recommended your purchase your own. We can provide advice on suitability and type. Leather or PVC riding boots are recommended, but initially shoes or boots with low block heels may be used. Jodhpurs are the most appropriate type of bottoms to wear as they are close fitting. If the weather is cold or rainy please bring appropriate clothes to stay warm and dry.

What if I am unable to make my riding lesson?

Please give us as much notice as possible. We would appreciate a phone call, rather than an email or text.

What if the weather is bad?

In most cases it is unlikely that your lesson will be cancelled due to light rain. In severe weather conditions the staff will contact you in appropriate time to rearrange your lesson.

If I decide to buy my child a horse do you offer services to help find the proper horse for him or her?

We can provide advice on purchasing a horse, as well as suitable places of purchase. Our own a pony / horse days provide useful information relating to purchasing your own horse.

What qualifications do the staff have?

They hold BHSAI IT SM (British Horse Society Assistant Instructor & Intermediate Trainer & Stable Management).
This is a well known and recognised qualification.

Could my child gain some experience with handling the horses?

Yes, we provides days where your child can come along and spend their time grooming,, feeding and getting to know more about the horses and ponies. Ask at the stable for more details.
