We do ask for a certain level of fitness before you start riding lessons.
Although it is a great way to keep fit it is not a way to get fit. It is a physically demanding aerobic sport and rider fitness is vital to achieve results.
It is recommended that you take part in other physical activities as well as your riding. Ideal activities to take part in would be bike riding, walking, or swimming. Dancing, yoga and pilates are also very beneficial for improving your riding.
Some of our customers have their own horses and wish to learn new skills to help improve them. You are quite welcome to bring your own horse although we regret we cannot travel out to you.
When riders reach a certain level of skill in the saddle, they will also learn training skills on the ground such as join-up as it is important to understand how the horse learns. However, before people begin training their own horses they must have mastered the basics!
Please note, for health and safety purposes, the minimum age required to ride is six years old.
We typically have private lessons during the week, however group lessons are held at the weekends only. Group lessons usually have an average number of six riders per lesson.
